What is a Medicare Advantage Plan?A Medicare Advantage plan, also known as Medicare Part C, is an alternative to Original Medicare that offers comprehensive coverage, often including additional benefits such as prescription drugs, dental, vision, and hearing care. These plans are provided by private insurance companies approved by Medicare and must offer at least the same level of coverage as Original Medicare (Parts A and B). Medicare Advantage plans can be a great choice for individuals seeking an all-in-one solution that combines various healthcare services under a single plan, often with lower out-of-pocket costs and additional perks.
Medicare Advantage is particularly well-suited for those who prefer managed care options, such as Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) or Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), which may come with provider networks. Enrollment periods for Medicare Advantage plans include the Initial Enrollment Period when you first become eligible for Medicare and the Annual Enrollment Period from October 15 to December 7. Additionally, there may be other Special Enrollment Periods that you could qualify for. Please call our office to inquire and see if you’re eligible.
